Freight Shipping Policy

Last Updated: May 28, 2026
Most generators sold by Jepordy LLC are large, heavy, and oversized — typically weighing between 150 and 600 pounds. These units cannot ship through standard parcel carriers like UPS or FedEx and instead require LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight shipping. This page explains exactly how freight shipping works so you know what to expect. For a general overview of all shipping methods, please also see our Shipping Policy.

Free Freight Shipping on All U.S. Orders

Including liftgate service for residential addresses — no hidden fees, no oversized surcharges.

1What Is Freight Shipping?

Freight shipping is used for large or heavy items that cannot be sent through standard parcel carriers like UPS, FedEx, or USPS. A freight carrier transports these items on a wooden pallet by tractor-trailer and delivers them directly to your address, ensuring your generator arrives safely and in the best possible condition.

Unlike parcel packages dropped at your doorstep, freight shipments require a scheduled delivery appointment, an adult signature, and a visual inspection before you sign for the unit.

2Which Generators Require Freight Shipping?

Most full-size generators ship by freight. Items that ship via freight will be clearly indicated on their product listing. Freight applies to:

Portable Generators

5,000W+ dual-fuel and gas units

Inverter Generators

Larger inverter models 4,000W+

Tri-Fuel Generators

Gasoline / propane / natural gas units

Standby Generators

Whole-home backup units

Industrial Generators

Commercial-grade jobsite units

Any Item Over 150 lbs

Including bundled accessories

3How Long Does Freight Delivery Take?

Freight orders are processed within 1–2 business days (Monday – Friday). After processing, freight shipments typically arrive within 5–10 business days, depending on your location, the freight carrier's schedule, and any holiday or weather disruptions. Cross-country shipments (East Coast to West Coast) generally take the longer end of the range.

Orders placed after 11:00 PM CST (UTC −6) will be processed the next business day. Orders placed on weekends or U.S. federal holidays are processed on the following business day.

4Freight Carriers We Use

Depending on your delivery address and the specific generator model, your shipment will be assigned to one of the following national LTL carriers:

R+L Carriers
XPO Logistics
Saia
ABF Freight
Estes Express

You will receive both a shipment tracking number and a BOL (Bill of Lading) number by email once your generator is dispatched.

5How Does Freight Delivery Work?

Freight delivery is a six-step process — different from standard parcel delivery. Here is what to expect from order to doorstep:

  1. Order DispatchedYour generator is processed at our warehouse in Reedsburg, Wisconsin (or, for select models, direct from the manufacturer's authorized distribution center) and loaded onto a freight truck.
  2. Shipping ConfirmationYou receive a shipping confirmation email containing your tracking number and the assigned LTL carrier's contact details.
  3. Scheduling CallThe freight carrier will contact you by phone 24–48 hours before delivery to schedule a 4-hour delivery window. Make sure your phone number is accurate at checkout — missed calls cause delays.
  4. Delivery DayAn adult (18+) must be available at the delivery address during the scheduled window to receive and sign for the shipment.
  5. Curbside Drop-OffThe driver delivers your generator on a pallet to the end of your driveway or curbside — not inside your garage, home, or backyard. A free liftgate is included for residential addresses.
  6. Inspect & SignBefore signing, walk around the entire pallet and inspect the packaging carefully for any visible damage. Note any concerns on the delivery receipt before signing.

6What to Do When Your Freight Order Arrives

Pre-Sign Inspection Checklist

  • Inspect all four sides of the pallet and shrink-wrap for dents, tears, punctures, or oil stains
  • Check that the pallet has not been re-wrapped or tampered with mid-transit
  • Look for signs of forklift damage to the corners of the carton
  • Confirm the carton labels match your order (model number, brand)
  • If any damage is found, note it clearly on the delivery receipt before signing
  • Take dated photos of any damage from multiple angles immediately upon delivery
  • Contact us at Contact@jepordy.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos
Critical: Inspect Before You Sign If you sign for a delivery without noting visible damage on the receipt, the carrier and Jepordy LLC may not be able to process a damage claim on your behalf. If anything looks off, write "Suspected damage – pending inspection" on the receipt before signing, or refuse the delivery entirely and contact us immediately.

7What If My Freight Order Arrives Damaged?

If your generator arrives damaged, take action immediately:

  • Email Contact@jepordy.com with your order number and clear photos of the damage from multiple angles
  • Do not attempt to assemble, install, fuel, or operate a visibly damaged generator
  • Keep all original packaging, pallet, and damaged components until our investigation is complete
  • Jepordy LLC will arrange a replacement, repair, or full refund at no cost to you

For complete return procedures and timelines, see our Refund & Returns Policy.

8Can I Track My Freight Order?

Yes. Once your generator has shipped, you will receive a tracking number and BOL (Bill of Lading) number by email. You can use these to track your shipment in real time on the freight carrier's website. Please allow up to 48 hours after shipment for tracking information to update in the carrier's system.

9Frequently Asked Questions

QWhat if nobody is home during delivery?

Freight deliveries require an adult (18+) to be present and sign for the shipment. If you miss your scheduled delivery window, the carrier will typically attempt redelivery — though missed appointment fees may apply. Please contact us at Contact@jepordy.com as soon as possible if you need to reschedule.

QWill the driver bring the generator inside my home or garage?

No. Freight delivery is curbside only — the driver lowers the pallet to the end of your driveway with a liftgate. You are responsible for moving the generator from the curb to its final location. Generators weighing 300+ lbs typically require two people or a hand truck. Jepordy LLC does not currently offer inside-delivery or white-glove service.

QIs liftgate service free?

Yes. Liftgate service is included free of charge for all residential addresses. A liftgate is the hydraulic platform on the back of the freight truck that lowers your generator pallet from truck height to ground level. Without a liftgate, the carrier would only be able to slide the pallet off a loading dock.

QWhat's the difference between residential and commercial delivery?

Residential addresses (homes, apartments, farms) include free liftgate service and delivery hours are typically Mon–Fri, 9 AM – 5 PM local. Commercial addresses (businesses, warehouses, jobsites) with a loading dock or on-site forklift do not require a liftgate. If your commercial address lacks dock equipment, contact us before ordering to arrange residential-style delivery.

QDo you offer international freight shipping?

No. All freight shipments are to the contiguous United States only. We do not currently offer international freight shipping, and we do not ship freight to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, or APO/FPO military addresses.

QCan I change my delivery address after placing an order?

Address changes may be possible before the freight pickup is scheduled — typically the first 1–2 business days after order placement. Please contact us immediately at Contact@jepordy.com or +1 (608) 360-1301 and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Address changes after pickup may incur carrier reconsignment fees.

QWhat if my freight delivery is delayed?

While we work hard to meet the stated timeframes, occasional delays may occur due to carrier scheduling, severe weather, hurricane season (June – November), dock congestion, or high order volumes. If your freight order has not arrived within the expected window, contact us with your order number and we will investigate with the carrier promptly.

QCan I refuse a delivery if the generator looks damaged?

Yes — and in some cases, you should. If the pallet shows obvious, severe damage (e.g., punctured carton, oil leak, crushed corners), you may refuse the delivery entirely. The carrier will return the unit to us and we will ship a replacement at no cost. Contact us immediately at Contact@jepordy.com to coordinate.
