Warranty Information

Last Updated: May 28, 2026
At Jepordy LLC, every generator we sell is backed by the original manufacturer's warranty. We stand behind the quality of every portable, inverter, dual-fuel, tri-fuel, and standby generator on our website — and we are here to help you navigate any warranty claim from start to finish, even years after your purchase.

1Manufacturer Warranty Coverage

All generators sold on jepordy.com are covered under the original manufacturer's limited warranty. Warranty terms, duration, and coverage vary by brand and product line. Each generator ships with the manufacturer's complete warranty documentation in the box.

Jepordy LLC is an independent authorized retailer. All generators sold are 100% authentic, brand-new, and factory-sealed. Brand names — including DuroMax, Generac, Westinghouse, Firman, Champion, Cummins, Pulsar, DuroStar, Dewalt, Powermate, BE Power Equipment, and Yamaha — are trademarks of their respective owners. Jepordy LLC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any brand listed.

2What Warranties Typically Cover

Warranty terms vary by brand and model, but most generator manufacturer warranties follow this general pattern:

Generally Covered

  • Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship
  • Defective engine components or factory parts
  • Electrical alternator or stator failures under normal use
  • Defective control panels, outlets, or wiring harnesses
  • Frame or structural failures from factory error
  • Factory assembly or quality-control errors

Generally Not Covered

  • Damage from misuse, neglect, or improper operation
  • Improper installation of transfer switches or wiring
  • Unauthorized modifications or use of non-OEM parts
  • Damage from stale or contaminated fuel
  • Normal wear items (spark plugs, oil filters, air filters)
  • Acts of God: flooding, lightning, hurricanes, fire
  • Cosmetic damage from shipping or handling
  • Use outside rated wattage capacity (overloading)

Always review the warranty documentation included in your generator's packaging for the full terms applicable to your specific model.

Warranty Periods Above Are Indicative Exact terms, exclusions, and coverage vary by model and may change over time. 4Engine Warranty vs. Generator Warranty

Some generators — particularly those using third-party engines from Honda, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, or Yamaha — may have two separate warranties:

  • Generator manufacturer warranty — covers the alternator, frame, control panel, outlets, and chassis
  • Engine manufacturer warranty — covers the engine block, cylinder, valves, carburetor, and ignition

The engine warranty is typically handled separately by the engine maker (e.g., Honda Engines or Briggs & Stratton) rather than the generator brand. Engine warranty periods are often 2 – 3 years and require the unit to be serviced through the engine manufacturer's authorized service network. We will help you identify the correct service path when you contact us.

5EPA & CARB Emissions Warranty

In addition to the manufacturer's standard warranty, all combustion-engine generators sold in the United States carry a federally mandated EPA emissions warranty. This warranty covers emissions-related components for a minimum period set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency — typically 2 years on small engines and longer on larger displacement units.

Generators sold in California carry the additional CARB (California Air Resources Board) emissions warranty, which extends emissions coverage further. The emissions warranty is in addition to the manufacturer's standard warranty and is transferable to subsequent owners for the emissions-related parts only.

6How to Make a Warranty Claim

To initiate a warranty claim on your generator, follow these steps:

  1. Contact Us First Email Contact@jepordy.com with the subject line "Warranty Claim – [Your Order Number]". Include your order number, generator brand and model, date of purchase, and a clear description of the issue.
  2. Include Supporting Evidence Send clear photos or short videos of the defect, along with the generator's serial number plate (typically located on the frame). For engine issues, include any error codes or oil/fuel observations.
  3. Our Team Reviews Your Claim We will review your claim and respond within 2 – 3 business days, identifying the correct manufacturer warranty path and the nearest authorized service center if onsite repair is needed.
  4. We Coordinate with the Manufacturer We work directly with the manufacturer's warranty department on your behalf — submitting forms, providing proof of purchase, and following up to keep your claim moving forward.
  5. Repair, Replacement, or Refund Depending on the manufacturer's determination, the resolution may be a parts replacement, repair at an authorized service center, full unit replacement, or refund. We stay involved until the claim is resolved to your satisfaction.
Important: File Within the Warranty Period Warranty claims must be submitted within the applicable warranty period. Claims submitted after expiration are not eligible for coverage. Keep your order confirmation email and original packaging until your warranty period ends — both may be required as proof of purchase.

7Register Your Generator

Most manufacturers strongly recommend registering your generator within 30 days of purchase. Registration is free and can speed up future warranty claims by establishing your ownership and warranty start date in the manufacturer's system.

To register, visit the manufacturer's official website (typically at "[brand].com/warranty-registration" or "register-your-product") and provide your serial number, model number, and date of purchase. If you need help finding the registration link for your brand, contact us and we will send you the direct URL.

8Warranty vs. Return Policy

Warranty claims and return requests are two different processes. Here is when to use each:

Refund & Returns (First 90 Days)

If your generator arrived damaged or you are within 90 days of delivery, you are eligible for a return or replacement under our return policy.

Full refund, free return shipping, no restocking fees. View Refund & Returns Policy →

Warranty (After 90 Days)

Manufacturer warranty claims cover defects discovered after the 90-day return window has closed, for the duration of your generator's warranty period.

Repair, replacement, or parts coverage through the manufacturer's authorized service network.
